Bought the car Feb 20 /16 but didn't notice that the drivers door does not close properly till I got home . Took it back to Woodstock Toyota when I had the weatherstrip glued back on and was told by the mechanic to just keep slamming it shut that it just needs to wear in .Then I was told that it wouldn't close because the car was so air tight I should drive around with the window down---when I told them if that's the case why do the other 3 doors close properly then they changed their tune ) . John Hogan the manager was sympathetic when I showed it to him and said he would get back to me about what to do (he was going to check with Toyota ) ----he didn't and when I called the dealership he wouldn't talk to me --instead I was directed to the service manager again who said that they tried closing all the drivers doors on all the Rav4 Hybrids on the lot and they were all like mine and did not close properly . When it got heated and I told him I was going to go to a body shop and have the door fixed he said to bring it out to the dealership and he would have his best mechanic look at it and bend the jam but wouldn't guarantee it would close properly after that .I'm thinking about what to do next . Do not buy a Rav 4 Hybrid and certainly do not buy a Toyota from John Hogan at Woodstock Toyota .

I bought this car from Woodstock Toyota and noticed the problem after I drove it off the lot and home the 1st day . The driver side door does not shut properly . You have to slam it shut to close it ---the other 3 doors work fine . When I took the car in to have the weather strip repaired the mechanic looked at it and I was told to keep slamming it shut and it would eventually fix itself . I was also told the car is so air tight that that was the problem and that to drive with the window down ---when I pointed out the fact that the other 3 doors work ok with the windows closed they didn't know what to say . I took the car back and had John Hogan the manager and Mike the service manager look at it ---they admitted that it didn't close properly and they would look into the problem by contacting Toyota . After a week when I heard nothing and I contacted them I was told all the Rav4 Hybrids they had on their lot had driver doors that did not close properly. Then I was told that they would order new weather strip for the roof and when I brought the car back for that they would have the mechanic bend the latch but couldn't guarantee anything .I told them this was unacceptable ----$42,000 for a new vehicle ---weather strip blows off the 1st week and the driver door does not shut properly . I has now been a week and I have heard nothing back from them .If you are reading this do not buy a Rav4 Hybrid and certainly if you do do not buy one from Woodstock Toyota .
