I have 4 Bridgestone insignia tires. Not sure of mileage but I will go back to the dealer on Monday to confirm, however I will guess about 25K to 35K. The tread looks very good. I have steel wires coming out of the sidewall. There are about a dozens wires between 2" and 8" hanging out. I noticed it because you can hear the wires slapping the fender and tire well as rotation occurs. I hope the factory responds in a positive way, we will see. Car and tires inspected by professional for 2,500mi road trip. All tires appeared fine and were rotated; have 40,000mi wear (70,000mi rated). Within last 250mi, car became imbalanced and lacked stability with computerized van tire monitor also responding. Professional inspection revealed left-rear steel belt visible and tire separated and front-right having early signs for same failure. Left rear tire replaced with full (new) spare, trip completed but last 25mi of trip, van tire monitor engaged again. Professional inspection required all tires be replaced; last three tires were not trustworthy for any driving.

The contact owns a 2000 Toyota Sienna. The vehicle had Goodyear assurance comforted tires, tire size 215/55R17. The tires were replacement tires purchased in October of 2006. There was one tire that exhibited an indentation in the side wall and excessive wear that occurred after 5,000 miles which was an extremely early stage to experience the defects. The other two tires would loose air pressure and completely deflate. The tires were taken to an independent auto shop. The technician was unable to determine the cause of the defects and informed that the vehicle was out of alignment. There was a discount offered towards the purchase of a new tire to replace the excessively worn tire. The contact was waiting on a response from the tire manufacturer regarding the defective tires. The failure mileage was 5,000.

After getting a flat tire, I bought two tires at ntb, waltham, MA to replace the flat and the old spare tire. The new tires (uni tiger paw) were put on the front of the car. The other 3 tires were rotated to the back and to the spare. I was also charged for a wheel alignment. Within 100 miles, as I was driving on the highway at 65 mph, the front right wheel began making a loud thumping noise so I pulled off the highway and called aaa. The tire was fine, but it was on the verge of falling off. Aaa tightened it and checked all the other tires, which were fine, and I was on my way again. Apparently the lug nuts on the front right tire had not been tightened. This was a dangerous event due to human error. I am concerned about how frequently such mishaps occur and wanted to report it. I will also contact ntb to let them know of this serious and dangerous event.

To date my Sienna has 25,000 miles on it. It had the torque converter replaced at 200 miles, the battery replaced because it went dead for no apparent reason within a year, the rear struts on the hatch have failed and needed to be replaced, the lights on the console blew out, the tires need to be replaced at 25,000 miles due to being out of alignment, vehicle pulls to left consistently, shakes at speeds over 60 mph, sliding doors consistently stick, pronounced clunk when going in reverse down a slight incline I am sure there is more to come.

Steering on the car started shaking at speeds of 65 mph. The Toyota dealership stated that I needed new tires. A call to Firestone sent me to Cadillac tire and independent dealer. The owner acknowledged that the tires were prematurely worn. He contacted Firestone and spoke with 2 individuals. A lady told him they are an 80000 mile tire. However she couldn't do anything so was referred to another person. He stated that there is no mileage warranty on those original equipment tires. They sent me to the tire store but wouldn't even consider any type of allowance for anything. I also rotated the tires as recommended by the manufacturer.

Sludge problem started at 11111 miles - also tires needed realignment and replacement at only 13115 miles. The van blows blue smoke upon startup. We have been blamed for the sludge problem. We have receipts for oil changes and have done some ourselves. Now we are told, by the service dpt. That we have to change our oil every 1000 miles and check the oil every two days. Been doing a lot of reading on this, and have talked to others - this is a defect in the Sienna and other cars, Lexus being one. Was told the engine would seize eventually and I would have to put out $5000 - $8000 for a new one. This isn't covered under warranty either.
