Toyota Sienna (2004) run flat tires. Replaced in April 2006 under the class action law suit. Worn again prematurely. Last tire rotation the front tires were worn bad, the back ones were fine. Now, one month later, the front tires (which used to be on the back last month) are now worn. When the tires were replaced, I was told that they were re-engineered and there is to be no worry. I have checked the air pressure more than the recommended amount of every other gas fill up and they have held the air. Is it the tires or the car? Toyota says they will not replace again. It was only 15,500 miles now all 4 will need to be replaced. I don't understand the problem if they are holding the pressure and that is what the dealer and Toyota tell me is that I must keep the pressure at 35, it is!

Run flat tires on my 2004 Sienna AWD show excessive, uneven wear on outer treads as compared to inner treads on front tires. Toyota has a customer service program to replace run flat tires with uneven wear on AWD models but the program is too restrictive. My vehicle showed this wear after 20000 miles but Toyota says I have not maintained the tires properly. I have never had this problem with so few miles on a vehicle's tires before and I have owned a lot of new cars.

On 2004 Toyota Sienna xle AWD, it uses runflat tires (Bridgestone B380) as standard equipment. I have to replace 1 at 5500 miles under normal road driving. At 29,000 miles, I have to replace all 4 tire due to excessive tread wear also under normal use. These tires cost 300% more compare to tires used on other Sienna models. Neither Toyota nor their dealer advised of these issues but just say those tires cost $10 or $20 more and only available through dealers. These unexpected tire wear and cost cause me being stranded on I10 at 11pm where no help can be found and cost more than $100 of towing to a dealership. Cost is one thing but less than normal tire lift expectancy caused safety issue when 1 or more tire unexpectedly malfunction or flat. Tires are not warranted by Toyota but tire company and Bridgestone dealer were quick to blame alignment being the issue. My Sienna has been taken care of by Toyota dealer with all maintenance record kept and on schedule.

My wife and I purchased a 2004 Toyota Sienna limited AWD with dunlop runflat tires as factory equipment. We currently have 19,700 miles on the vehicle and have been advised by our dealership that the tires are worn to the point that they all need to be replaced immediately. We have contacted both Toyota and dunlop with no assistance from either source to date. It is a well known fact, stated all over the internet, that there are serious problems with these tires yet for some reason neither Toyota or dunlop are being held accountable for the faulty and dangerous tires on these vehicles. Apparently they are waiting for people to be injured or killed before stepping forward and taking responsibility!

2004 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated the tires tread wore at a very low mileage. These were the original tires on the vehicle. The tires have not been replaced at this time. There is approximately 21,050 miles on this vehicle. These are dunlop, sp4000T dsst. The contact noticed the wear on the tire last week, October 11, 2005, when the tires were getting their third rotation.

2004 Toyota Sienna limited AWD with dunlap run flat tires. Vehicle is 18 months old with 16,000 miles. The vehicle began to have hard ride with increase road noise. Taken to local tire center, 2 tires tread worn off, the other 2 significantly worn. Advised that the tires were dangerous to cont to drive on. Cost to replace tires approx $1300. No spare tire is provided, since the run flats are standard equipment. Must then buy the same tire with the same problems. Contacted Toyota, they are unwilling to accept responsibility, dunlap was willing to prorate the tires, but still offers no warranty on new tires. Review of the internet shows this is a common complaint. I think the run flat tires are a good idea, but I doubt they were actually tested to be sure that they are safe and effective.

Dunlop run flat tires made specially for 2004 and beyond Toyota Sienna wear out in less than 20,000 miles for numerous consumers after regular rotations and balancing. Numerous reviews on www.tirerack.com from consumers complaining about the dunlop SP4000 dsst 225/60/17 tires wearing out after less than 20,000 miles. I just had to replace mine at a total cost of $1,300 - and there are no other tires that will work on this car since these tires were made specially for this car.

2004 Toyota Sienna xle ltd AWD purchased new with Bridgestone B380 rft 225/60R17 tires. Tires wear out prematurely. Estimated mileage based on tread wear is 30K miles. We had a flat tire at 22,000 miles. To have even treads on all tires the dealer recommended to replace all 4 tires at a cost of $250/tire. This means is I have to spend $1000/year just to replace tires!!!

Run flat tires are unsafe and tread wear life is extremely short. 2004 Toyota Sienna xle AWD limited has oe dunlop sp sport 4000T dsst 'run flat' tires. Car has 19,000 miles and all 4 tires are completely bald. Car has been maintained by the dealer per manufacturers instructions. 'run-flat' cars do not have spare tires, jacks or tire well for storage, so there is no way to switch to regular tires without losing the rear cargo space. I cannot afford to lose this space as this is why I purchased this vehicle. New run flat tires will cost me well over $1100 per year at this tread wear rate. The combination of these tires with this minivan seems to be a serious problem. It poses a huge expense to replace these tires regular and is a serious safety hazard to a class of owners who generally have infants or young children. NHTSA should act to require Toyota and dunlop to resolve this issue satisfactorily.

Voids and peeling of tread on all four tires. It appeared as if there were large air bubbles trapped in the tread at manufacturing. This was noticed after having only 30,000 miles on tires. Had to replace with all new tires due to mfg. Defect. Michelin only allowed 50% toward new tires. I was fortunate not to have been killed while driving with these tires. This has really emotionally upset me considering I had just driven from fl to nh with them.

Toyota Sienna (2004+) AWD models use run-flat tires since no spare tire is provided by Toyota. These run-flat tires are defective in that they wear out exceedingly fast. Mine are nearly worn out at 17K miles on my 2004 Sienna. At a equipment and labor replacement cost of ~ $1600 for all 4 tires, this is unacceptable. If you search the internet, this is a well known problem with the Siennas using run-flats. Tires should not cost me $100 per 1000 miles driven. Secondary issue with the tires is the safety. I have not experieced this problem, but other owners are stating that if the tire is cut, that it needs to be replaced immediately. Because run flats are new, there are hardly any places in the U.S. that stock these tires, let alone having the special equipment to install them. You'll see many owners have resorted to buying regular tires for their Siennas, then purchasing a spare tire and throwing it into the back of their van. This takes away from the utility of the van a great deal, since storage is a primary selling point of minivans. Please investigate this issue. Tires should last ~40K miles, and since these run flats are so expensive, replacing every 15K miles puts a huge cost on the owner that Toyota never warned new owners. I would expect Toyota to cover replacement cost of these tires until a suitable replacement is developed, or find a way to use regular tires and store the spare somewhere on the vehicle without taking up the advertised passenger storage space. All four dunlop sp sport 4000T dsst run-flat tires on my 2004 Toyota Sienna xle AWD are completely worn after 13,800 miles. These are original tires. Both Toyota and dunlop do not want to take any responsibility for this issue despite the numerous complaints being made here and elsewhere reported in depth in the internet. A reasonable consumer would expect that these tires would be engineer to last more than 10K miles given they are each $300 a piece. Please assist me and numerous other Toyota owners with similar problems by conducting a defect investigation and ultimately assisting in a formal recall of these tires and the associated problems causing the tire failures. I am afraid that replacing the tires every year at a cost of $1400 won't solve the problem which appears to have some relationship to vehicle alignment issues as well as poor tire longevity.

We had a tire blow out through the sidewall recently. We drive a 2004 Toyota Sienna le fwd with dunlop sp sport 4000 A/S tires installed as oem. We had just barely passed 26,000 miles when we had a side wall blowout on the driver side rear tire while travelling app. 70 mph on the highway in South Carolina. I pay attention to tire pressure and teadwear, so the tire that blew should have been inflated properly, and in this case I had already begun thinking about getting new tires because the tread was approaching the wear bars. This is a very poor-performance tire, and I'm amazed Toyota made a corporate decision to put these tires on their Sienna "family vans." Dunlop should be embarassed to even attempt to sell them.
