I have been having problems with the traction control. The light will randomly turn on, which brakes the wheels. The system will start beeping and saying a false traction control problem. (when the road is clear) I looked online many Toyota Siennas have this issue. It is dangerous and should be recalled to be fixed!

The spare tire from our 2005 Toyota Sienna fell off and was lost due to the identifed defect in the spare tire carrier cable. The spare tire fell off after the defect had been identified through a recall notice from Toyota, but before Toyota had a remedy for the defect. When a remedy was identified, we brought the car to the dealer for the fix but they refused to replace the already lost spare tire. Toyota should be responsible for replacing our spare tire due to this identified defect.

2005 Toyota Sienna's vehicle stability control engaged for no reason while in many different conditions (dry, wet, curve, straight, it didn't matter) making me lose control of the car. The vsc, trac off and check engine lights came on and a beeping sound engaged while the care took over not allowing driver input. I had to put it in neutral until it turned off. I have read many accounts online of other Toyota Sienna drivers experiencing the same dangerous problem. Thank goodness when it has happened, I haven't had a truck or semi next to me. This is my family car in which I need to drive my kids and other people's kids, and I cannot drive it anymore. Toyota has to fix this problem, since it is a manufacturer problem.

There is a spare tire recall on 2004-2011 Toyota Siennas. The "interim" fix removes the spare tire from underneath the vehicle and stores it in the passenger area. Toyota has known about this problem since 2010. I bought this car for the extra cargo space and the seven passenger capability. Now at best its a six passenger vehicle with a pretty big tire unsecured in the passenger/cargo area. The reason for this recall is that the spare tire had been suspended under the car and now it has been determined that the cable is deteriorated and could allow the spare tire to drop onto the road. It seems to me that Toyota is in no hurry to make a permanent repair. In the event of really hard stop or collision this loose tire and wheel assembly could cause injury.

I received a recall notice from Toyota regarding cable corrosion for the spare tire assembly. I brought the car to the Toyota dealer and they removed the cable and spare tire from under the car. I agreed to have this work completed based on an estimate from the dealer that the new parts to have the spare tire reinstalled would be made available within 4 wks. Now about 7 wks have passed and there is still no word from Toyota about when this spare tire solution will be made available. For 7 wks I have had to drive around with the spare tire the well of my Toyota while it bangs around and takes up a lot of space. My storage in the car has been compromised and I have to put delicate things and groceries at other places in the car. It is imperative that Toyota issue a permanent solution to this spare tire problem!

The paint/coating on my rims is bubbling and flaking off. It has been getting steadily worse since I purchased the vehicle used in 2009. I have not tried to contact a dealer about it as it is beyond the 36 month warranty period and any special adjustment from Toyota likely would be a huge up-hill battle and would probably just end up wasting my time.

I own a Toyota Sienna minivan and have experienced the paint on all four rims bubbling and peeling. It is a 2005 Sienna xle AWD. Toyota's resolution was to offer me two rims for "free" if I bought two at over $900. I was still well within warranty. If you go to www.nuckleslaw.com/software-negotiations-expert/Toyota-alloy-wheels-bubbling-Toyota-quality-concerns/ you will find multiple postings and pictures of this problem, which includes Lexus. I paid $500 to have my rims refinished. Toyota corporate in California would not address this issue when I called them. From a safety standpoint, I have to think that at some point this decay of aluminum rims would go far enough that it may cause tires to slowly lose air.
