Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

2005 Toyota Sienna Owner Comments

problem #2

May 162008

  • 41,000 miles

The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Sienna. Whenever the contact opens the rear liftgate, it will automatically close back. The liftgate will also close regardless if an object or the contact is attempting to keep it open. There have been no injuries due to the failure. Also, whenever snow falls from the roof rack onto the windshield, the windshield wipers were not strong enough to remove the snow from the windshield. The contact's vision is hindered. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. The current mileage was 42,000 and failure mileage was 41,000.

The right windshield wiper leaves much water directly in front of me before the left wiper removes it. Every wipe, while the water is in my line of sight, I struggle to see the road. This is definitely a hazard to my family's safety, and should be easily repaired with a simple improvement in the design of the wiper cycle.
