When I drive this van downhill on a curve not fast slower than 40mph, the antilock brakes engage violently and hard and jerky I do not have my foot on the brake when this happens. I'm not going fast. But the ABS is so violent it causes me to lose control of the steering. It happened 3 times in 24 hours and always in same situation. Only lasts a few seconds. Other Sienna owners have had same issues. 119k miles on the van. Bought it used. Had no idea. Of course dealership can't replicate the problem and won't help us. I'm scared to drive the car.

Driving 35-55 mph and going around (usually) a left curve on the highway or interstate, van suddenly brakes, swerves, and traction control/vehicle stability control light pops on. Whole episode lasts a second or two, then its fine. It wont happen again for the duration of the trip. I only drive the van on weekends, and it has happened three times in the past two weeks. It has nearly caused a serious accident.

Brake shaking/shutter upon braking down a steep hill. The 2015 Sienna AWD has 45,000 miles. The Sienna has mostly been driven on flat to mild sloped interstate roads that do not require braking. Recent inspection by a tire shop reports 12/32 remaining on brake pads showing minimal to no wear. Upon driving down a steep road requiring braking to control speed there was violent shaking/shutter in the front end. Thinking something was broken, reduced the speed and used transmission to control speed to reduce brake application. This relieved the violent shaking. Checking internet there is a Toyota tsb for this problem replacing brake pads and additional work. The problem has to be reported to Toyota within the 36,000 mile warranty to have the problem fixed by Toyota. This problem needs to be fixed by a safety recall when oem remain on the vehicle.

The vehicle was stationary and one day ABS malfunction light came on due to faulty harness on a 3 year old 35,000 mile vehicle. This reduces the ability of the vehicle to stop normally as it should this also disables the traction control on the vehicle. I was driving in rain without any traction control and it was scary. I contacted Toyota and they keep stating the car is out of warranty. It is $500+ repair to ABS system due to their faulty parts. I just need this to be on the record incase something happens while driving a Toyota Sienna.

Van would reboot while parked or driving. It started with dashboard rebooting then I couldn't start the van. There was a time after driving I put the van in park and turned it off but my van was moving on it's own. I always call the dealership when the rebooting occurs. I was told either it was a software issue or since the problem went away, I should be fine. Well recently when my van stalled and had to be towed to the dealership. I was told it was a battery issue and the battery was replaced. When I picked up my van and went home, noticed my rear view camera would not come on went I put the van in reverse. Called the dealership to tell them what's going on and the service advisor woman was very rude and stated it was battery and they never checked anything else. I stated to the woman the I've always expressed my concerns about the van rebooting, won't start, or moving on it's own. The woman became very rude and hung up on me. I decided to go right back to the dealership on the way there I called back to speak to the manager of service department to explain what's going on. While driving there the check engine and another light turned on. Shortly after that as I was turning left, while in the middle of the intersection my van stalled. The steering wheel and brakes locked and the van completely shuts off. I was locked in my van with no control over the van and it was moving towards a pole. Luckily the van stopped before hitting anyone or anything. I was on the phone with the service manager the entire time. The manager called for someone to pick me up and called a tow company. I asked the manger if they are stating my issue was a battery and a new battery was installed why am I still having the same issue. The police was call because someone reported my van in the middle of the intersection.

The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Sienna. While driving at an unknown speed and making a left turn, the brake pedal was depressed, but failed to respond as it traveled to the floorboard. As a result, another vehicle crashed into the front passenger corner panel of the contact's vehicle. The contact and a passenger in the other vehicle sustained unknown injuries that required medical attention. The air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 32,774. The VIN was not available.

Brought vehicle into dealer for routine service and maintenance. Service technicians informed me that the brake rotors were "severely scorched" and "warped, " and recommended immediate replacement of all pads and rotors. Technician asked if I tow a trailer or routinely haul heavy items, neither of which I have ever done; technician then asked if I ride my brakes when I drive, which I do not. Vehicle has 29K miles and is used only for city driving for just my wife and I (and occasionally my son's family, which consists of two adults and two children), but I have never driven this vehicle in an abnormal fashion. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary while I drove it, so I consider myself lucky the technicians caught the damage before the brakes failed. This is the forth van I have owned but my first Toyota, and I've never had a brake issues with any of my previous vehicles--not even the van that I drove back and forth to work 50+ miles a day and cross-country three times, racking up well over 100K miles.

We bought our 2015 Toyota Sienna le all-wheel drive in February 2015. At 16,000 miles, we took it in for maintenance because it was shaking during braking. We were informed that the rotors were warped and needing replaced. They were replaced. At 22,000 miles, the wheel inflation signal keeps coming on every other day after refilling air into all tires; we inspected the tires and found that the two rear tires were very worn on the inner side of the tires. We took it to sheehy Toyota of fredericksburg again for maintenance. We were told that it needed alignment and 4 new tires. We were also told that the tires would not be covered because factory tires from dealerships were not covered under warranty. But the main concern is that, at just 22,000, there's already rotor issues and alignment issues from just normal driving. Never drove in gravel or rough roads. I believe there's an issue with the 2015 Sienna line of vans, regards to brake rotors and alignment problems. It's a big saftey concern for me and my family. And it's disappointing to hear that Toyota will not cover alignment issues, though the vehicle is still so new. It could have been tragic if we didn't catch the worn tires this soon. For the record, we had never missed an oil change or scheduled routine maintenance.

Vehicle was in reverse backing out of an inclined driveway into a culdasac. The brakes would not engage to stop the car. The dealership towed the car and examined it. They said their were 8 codes that were showing. The dealership spent a day examining the car. They told us they found nothing wrong. They gave us no paperwork detailing what the codes were or what they had done to check the car. They said the car was safe to drive.

When braking at speed exiting highway, brakes began vibrating. The siena has 19,300 miles on it. I took it to the dealer and was told the front rotors were warped. The car has not been subjected to extreme driving conditions and a warped rotors may not have been noticed by others. But the rotor after warping would invariably lead to cracked rotor or brake failure at some point and pose a hazard, possibly catastrophic failure and damage or injury. Luckily, I caught it before something serious happened. I think Toyota should look into premature failures.

When pulling into a parking space, the care reved and lunged forward, approximately 5 feet while the foot was on the brake. Happened twice, when turning right into parking space. Called dealer about incident and then took van into dealer next day. They contact Toyota (case #152470163). Toyota informed dealer that this was not that uncommon with Sienna vans. If someone had been in front of the vehicle at the time of the first incident they would have been injured. If I had been parking in my garage I would have damaged the house. Toyota indicate there was not a repair and that one was not needed and told dealer to release the vehicle to customer (quote). The dealer thought it was the computer and that it reved the motor automatically due to using ac. We do not understand why a computer can not be programmed to make sure this does not happen - we no longer feel safe in the vehicle.

While driving on the nys thruway with the cruise control activated my van came to an abrupt stop on the thruway. There were no vehicles in close proximity to my van that would have activated the radar cruise or the autonomous emergency braking system. After the abrupt stop all the lights on the dash were lit up ie: Brake, ABS, pcs, slip indicator light, and master warning light. When I reached my destination I was unable to open the doors of my vehicle. Someone tried to open the doors from the outside of the vehicle and they were unable to open them as well. I brought it to the local Toyota dealer and they could find nothing wrong. The above lights have lit up on several occasions however the dealer could find nothing wrong. There has been a previous complaint for the same behavior on 6/6/15 reported to Toyota for the same make and model as mine a Toyota Sienna premium and they have not been able to get Toyota to act on it.
