Air bag (SRS) light came on and stayed illuminated. After doing a little research, found this was a common problem with a lot of Tacoma. Most said it was do to a faulty clock spring. No modifications have been done to the truck. Have not taken it to the dealer yet.
My 08 Toyota Tacoma has airbag light on and dealer wants to charge $490 to replace spiral cable. This is a safety problem caused by a faulty part there should be a recall!
The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Tacoma. The contact was driving 48 mph when the vehicle ran over some black ice causing the contact to lose control. The vehicle rolled over four times before coming to a stop. The vehicle was ruled destroyed. The police stated they were surprised that the air bags did not deploy. Neither the frontal nor side impact air bags deployed. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage and current mileages were 28,000.
