Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

Takata recall - unacceptable how long this recall has taken to correct. One of our two vehicles is unable to be used as a family vehicle and has now gone past the point of being an inconvenience. Have received absolutely no information since the original notice. How was Toyota able to pass the state inspection with this recall in effect?

I was informed of the recall in the summer of 2014. It has been nearly a year and a half since the notification. I was told parts were ordered and I would be notified and scheduled for replacement when the parts arrived. I've contacted dealers multiple times and was told the same thing, when parts arrived. The initial letter told me not to have anyone ride in the passenger seat (for a year and a half.) I think I've been patient long enough.when this all started I was in lexington ky. I am currently in okeechobee fl. I've contacted dealers in each area.

Takata recall - because the recall notice sent by Toyota advises that I not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat, I have had only limited use of the vehicle for nearly six months. I filed a complaint with Toyota, asking that they provide a replacement vehicle or buy the vehicle back (Toyota case #1511190602. Since the vehicle can not be used as intended, it is my opinion that Toyota should be required to offer resonable compensation and/or an amicable solution. Further, it is my understanding that the problem with the airbag is more likely to fail in areas prone to high humidity. For most of the year, this truck is parked within 50 feet of lake erie - from may to September - normal daily humidity is generally over 80% Toyota should be required to offer compensation - this is a serious defect. To so drastically limit the owners use of the vehicle with no known date for a solution is not acceptable. Again, Toyota should be required to offer fair financial compensation or a comperable loaner vehicle (including suitable insurance coverage) to the vehicle owner's satisfaction.

I received recall notice for defective pass side airbag approx. 4to5 months ago. Saying not to allow anyone to ride in front pass side of vehicle. I have called dealer twice and was told they do not have parts to repair yet. I feel like im getting the run around. This is very inconvenient for us not to have use of one front seat.
