Since buying the car i have been extremely disappointed at the fuel consumption I am lucky if i get 33-35 mpg, yet their supposed official figures are in the 40s.

I am a careful driver who reads the road and anticipates acceleration braking, at the very least I should be near the official figures.

The car was checked and no faults found, I telephoned Vauxhall customer service and a young woman told me that as the MPG figures are obtained from an independent company who obtain the figures from tests carried out indoors on a rolling road I would not be able to achieve the official figures (she thought it was funny) as there is no wind or differing road surface resistance.

I then spoke to a Manager who told me that all the car manufacturers get the MPG figures in the same way and that each and every car would have different MPG.

I suggested that just because other company's misled the public that was no reason why Vauxhall should, he told me he would speak to senior management to see if a more clear description could be published in the brochures.

A YEAR LATER NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE
