I walked out to my driveway to get in my CC. Started the engine as normal, put the car in drive because I backed in the night before the car moved forward about 5 feet and would not move any further. I noticed the D on the instrument panel was flashing, so I put it in park got out and looked around vehicle and under the hood to see if any linkage on the trans. was missing or broken none were. Got back in the car put it in reverse and the R started flashing and would not move. So I turned the car off, went inside and called a mechanic at the VW shop. He told me to bring it in. I went back out and started it up again and everything worked. Took it in to the VW shop and they could not find anything wrong.

The car wont engage when trying to parallel park. I will be driving and pull up to a spot I want to park on the street and put the car in reverse and it makes a noise like it is trying to go into reverse and if it won't engage the "R" starts flashing and the check engine light comes on. I have to place the vehicle in park (the "P" will then flash) and turn it off and turn it on and then it will work. Usually after driving the car 3 times or so the check engine light turns off and clears, but then a day or so later the same thing happens. This has happened at least 3 times a week for the past few weeks.

Update from Nov 14, 2016: I purchased this vehicle as a certified pre-owned in 4/2013 at which time it had 44423 miles on it, so it had a 2yr/24k warranty. I have had all required maintenance, recalls and repairs performed at the dealership that I purchased from. Now after 3.5 years of owning the vehicle and only putting 31,577 miles on it, when I took it into the dealership for the above complaints, I was told that I should have had the recommended DSG service performed at 45K. Are you f***ing kidding me? Shouldn't that "DSG Service" been performed prior to me purchasing the car as a CPO? (I am letting my anger get the best of me) The repair performed to correct complaints was (1) replacement of the dual clutch pack which required the removal and re-install of my transmission; (2) Replace 02 sensor, sensor #2 before Cat. converter; (3) replace recirculation valve in turbo assembly leaking oil; Total out of pocket cost = $2,600.00 (I was given a 15% discount on the part and service because "customer is very loyal . . . and always services the vehicle here) I picked up the vehicle and the next morning drove my vehicle 10 miles and the vehicle disengaged and go into a different gear and then died. I called the dealership and after sending two techs to assess the situation they had a tow truck pick it up. Two days later I had the vehicle back, did not have to pay anymore money because the mechanic was a fault and now the vehicle is driving well (knock on wood)

DANGER! BE CAREFUL! POTENTIAL CRASH! NEVER BUY THIS CAR

Driving home last night here in Los Angeles on the Carpool side (Left side of the freeway) Transmission shifted to neutral and the shift indicator D started flashing. Total loss of speed in a highway. Had to crossed 4 lanes to the right side to stop and restart the vehicle. Almost got ran over by a truck trying to reach the shoulder of the freeway. I was with my daughter. Called dealership. They have no clue even though there are many users with the same problem. Volkswagen won't help and they said they don't know what's is causing the problem even thought there are many other recalls in other countries for the same problem ( see link below)

DON'T RISK YOUR LIFE BUYING VOLKSWAGEN. I normal vehicle with a transmission problem will gradually deteriorate or break completely. I should have never sold my Camry for this dangerous vehicle. VW will charge $128 just to tell you that you have to replace the transmission for around $8,000. Ridiculous

BE CAREFUL. VOLKSWAGEN WON'T HELP YOU. FILLING COMPLAINS WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA BUT IN THE MEANTIME I HAVE NO CAR TO GO TO WORK

Have 2010 Volkswagen CC sport 2.0T...kept it maintained with regular scheduled changes, been taking care it of like a baby....however transmission fail!!!!! DSG trans..terrible!..failed , was told that it is a electrical component of gear box. Cost to replace $5460...used transmission $7800 new from Volkswagen..are they high! Single mom with little funds. Was told by service advisor at dealer , these should not be failing at this mileage with the fact its had regular maintenance done. He couldn't understand..contacted Volkswagen Cust Care, I was 29,000 miles over warranty for these trans, they pretty much couldnt or wouldnt help. Kept insisting they cant help past the perimeters of the warranty...WHAT EVER! What a way to stand by your quality..NO HELP WHAT SO EVER..needless to say ..DONT BUY VOLKSWAGEN...not like they used to be. They have slacked on they're commitment to helping Volkswagen customers...

Sincerely..

DISAPPOINTED!

CC Sport 2.0t

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

The transmission jerks at stop, and while in drive. At one point I came to a stop sign, and the vehicle disengaged as if it was in neutral a and would not let me drive forward, I had to turn off the car and turn it back on for it to move forward. I'm also experiencing issues when the vehicle is stopped or in park for a few minutes the reverse will not engage. I usually have to turn off the car and turn it back on for it to work.

CC Sport 2.0t

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,000 miles

Transmission in my 2010 VW CC Sport failed at 62,000 miles. This problem was covered under VW extended DSG warranty (most VWs with DSG transmissions are covered until 100,000 miles). I had wet clutch replaced about 2,500 miles before failure due to transmission jerking into first gear. That repair was also covered under VW warranty but obviously was not the cause of the issue.
