APPARENTLY NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY OR RECALL. tried to file a claim and VW rep called me said they spoke to dealership and can be of NO ASSISTANCE! Explained our 2nd Eos and at 80,000 miles do not expect to have a $4300 problem that the factory can not offer assistance for when this car has NOT been in an accident, is driven only by a 55 yr old woman back and forth to work, was always serviced, never abused and in return we get a $4300 bill. Disgusted in VW as a brand. My husband had 2000 Acura TL @ 84K miles and 8yrs old had a transmission problem and Acura picked up 75% of the $3800 bill for new transmission...Why can't VW offer any similar assistance?

randomly shifted into neutral

Okay. So, within 1 hour of driving this new car off dealer's lot, car unexpectedly shifted into neutral. Episode 1: Making right turn, shift to neutral. Car behind me nearly rear-ended me. Episode 2: Getting onto 70mph highway on-ramp. In right lane, car shifted into neutral. 18-wheel truck had to drive off the road to avoid rear-ending me, nearly causing a pile-up on a 70mph highway. This shifting problem happened another 8-10 times. Brought car to dealer, told them to "make it right." Dealer had car for 8 days and repaired. Got it back, and my now <2-week old car then developed another problem with the power train involving loss of power....
