Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Gti. He could hear a buzzing noise between 2000 RPM and 3000 RPM when the engine is started and the noise continues all during driving. The vehicle was taken numerous times to the dealer where he was told that was normal for the vehicle to make noise and that is part of the design to enhance the sound within the vehicle. The manufacturer also stated the same information, stating that the sound was normal. The failure mileage was approximately 10 and the current mileage was 8,800. Updated 11/16/10 the consumer stated VW did acknowledge the issue. The consumer stated the fix is only temporary and there is still a rattle in the engine. Updated 11/24/10 the consumer stated he took his vehicle to the dealer to have the technical bulletin performed. The dealer kept the vehicle for five days. He stated, at first it seemed as though the noise had all but disappeared, but it only lasted a couple of days. Updated 01/13/11
