After a few months after this new car was delivered, the suspension has this cranking sound every time it goes over some bumps or uneven roads. Sounds like the shocks or suspension mechanisms are loose. Took it back to the dealer and a mechanic drove the car and said "nothing is wrong; the car is noisy."

I have had many cars and not one with such noisy suspension when it is still nearly new. Some online GTI owners struggled to get VW to replace the shocks but no luck. One owner reported that the rear shocks were replaced with Bilstein shocks B4 and the noise went away.

The shocks may be defective from the manufacturer but VW refused to admit it and replace them.
