As my daughter was driving down the road her driver side window suddenly dropped into the door, creating a loud noise and serious driving distraction. She reported swerving and slamming on her brakes as she didn't know what had happened. It turns out this is a known defect, see technical bulletin 64-08-06 and the warranty was extended to cover this part, but we were never notified. Apparently, there was no recall notice, despite knowing of this ongoing problem, only a warranty extension after the problem occurs. This how now expired. She was driving down the road, in the snow, and this could have caused a serious accident.
