Passenger side headlight and rear brake light not working. Also the passenger signal lights not front and rear not working. I was driving from homedepot and made a right turn, notice the dash right turn indicator was flashing rapidly than when I entered my garage I notice that the passenger headlight wasn't on as well. The rear backup light not working a well on the passenger side. I drive into orlando for work and have had near rear collision when making right turns because we have alot of tailgaters in Florida. Read that there was a recall on this problem. Please advise...

VW Jetta wolfsburg edition 2009. 1. I have taken my car auto repair shop over 5X over the times over the past year because the 'engine malfunction' light was going on/off intermittently - on for 3 hours then off, on for 2 days, off. Now the check engine light is permanently illuminated on the dashboard despite multiple engine auto repair services rendered. 2. the ABS and eps/asr symbols illuminate and alarm goes off randomly without reason while I am driving 50-65mph on major nyc highways and/or when im driving 15-35 on a residential street. The eps/asr flashes continuously while sounding an alarm for 60 seconds or so, ABS remains constant lit and will continue to do so until I am able to stop, turn of the engine, wait a minute, and then restart the car. On highway I have had to drive considerable distance with emergency lights flashing. 3. I was pulled over by a cop at night because one of my tail lights was out. I had no idea that was the case and would have never found out because the "light bulb!" warning was not on, and never came on. I got it fixed 2 days later, still no light bulb signal, my right taillight was replaced. About 2 weeks later the "light bulb!" icon illuminated, I tested and all the lights were working- but the 'lightbulb!' remained lit. About 2 weeks later the lightbulb was off. 4. the aux feature on my car is no longer accessible. Repair shop but they were unable to fix because VW speciality code/ system programming? 5. I have noticed it takes more effort to engage my brakes while driving. I have had my car brake pads replaced at least 2X over the past 6 years (I have driven about 20K miles). Also note - no symbol of emergency brake/ mechanic maintenance / worn brake pads/ automatic transmission/gearbox symbol were illuminated during this event (in February 2018) and none of these symbols had illuminated to this day (April 2018).

I've had to replace the low beam headlights 3 times within 18 months and now both low beam headlights do not work even after replacing the bulbs. VW has had recalls on other vehicles for a similar problem but this make and model was not included in previous recalls. Perhaps the scope of the problem is wider than originally thought.

I have 2009 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5 and I have problems with my cars. 1) all my lights, except for the left side of headlight, are not working. All the lights went out at the same time. I changed the bulbs but still do not work. 2) since lights started to not work, I get seat belt warning signs and alarms even if I am wearing the seatbelts. 3) when I try to wash my front window with the wipers, window washier(liquid) would not come out.

Intermittent electrical problems from undetermined source for last year, ended up losing all lights on passenger side of car, and some lights/light function on driver's side, including brake lights, turn signals, headlights etc. Random security alarm going off without being able to turn it off, brake warning lights, traction control issues. After a quick internet search I became aware that this is a very common problem and known VW issue, and found F16 fuse to be melted along with a portion of the fuse box. Called the only VW dealer in the city 10/23/14 and was told I had two safety recalls on my car, one for an ECM software update and one for this electrical issue, neither of which I was notified of, yet have been notified to have the "diesel only" sticker installed, and haven't moved since long before I purchased the car. Dealer is not able to look at my vehicle until 10/27/14 and cannot provide a loaner car since Volkswagen won't reimburse them for that cost. Called Volkswagen customer service and spoke with doug, only to be told they could not authorize rental car reimbursement, and I would need to either shoulder that expense myself or continue driving the car in it's current state. Informed him that the car was not safe to be driven with the lighting issues, and fuse F16 being tied into ABS as well, was told he couldn't help me. If they had done the correct thing, I wouldn't be left in an unsafe car to Transport my family, due to their engineering design negligence.

I started my vehicle when I got a light bulb failure light on my dash, after investigating all affected bulbs which were all on the right side of the vehicle I looked at the fuses. Come to find out there are two spots in the fuse box that are 30 amps and were melted but not blown. The fuse box itself has been melted as well. I replaced the fuses and about one year later it happened again. I jiggled the fuses that were melted and the lights started to work again.

Passenger headlamps, passenger front turn signal and all rear turn signals stopped working. The right signal was not operational. Took car to dealer and they indicated the fuse box and the 30 amp fuse ( F16) under the hood had overheated and melted. They are charging me $580 to replace the fuse box and fuse. When asked was this a defect and how can this situation be prevented, they said it has happened with other cars. It is something that happens and good thing I brought it in because other major damage to the car could have occurred. My concern is that this defect is a safety issue that could lead to serious consequences. Other Volkswagen vehicles have been recalled for this same issue (melted fuse box and fuses) and it is not clear why Volkswagen isn't extending a recall to all cars that exhibit the same defect.

The electrical wire insulation of the passenger side head light is crumbling and falling off the wires, I noticed when I had to change the light bulb for the second time in less than a month. When I opened the access cover to replace it I saw pieces of the wire insulation all over inside the head light compartment. I'm very afraid and scared that my car will catch on fire due to that manufacturer deficiency of the electrical wire insulation. I sent one message to Volkswagen on America yesterday but they have not contacted me to get additional information or provide guidance. I took pictures with my iphone and will provide them upon request, my personal email is [xxx]please advice what can I do to have VW repair that deficiency at no cost to me. Lost passenger headlamp, passenger front turn signal and all rear turn signals. The fast signal only indicated that the right signal was not operational. We had a near rear collision while making a left turn into traffic. Upon investigation it was found that the 30 amp fuse (number F16) in the under hood fuse box was overheated and melted as well as the fuse socket was melted.

Dashboard lights would not work when headlights were turned on, including right/left indicator lights. I brought the car into marten's VW service on 11/20/13 in bethesda md. They reported the fuse box had started to melt and had to be replaced for $580. It is no longer under warranty. This seems to be a flaw that online research has shown. The VW technician said "it is a problem with these cars". he said the new fuse boxes are made differently now. Shouldn't this have been a recall item?

My '09 Jetta had a "bulb failure" light sporadically turn on over the course of 3 days (sometimes it was on and sometimes it wasn't when I started the car), and when it was on, I noticed that my passenger-side headlight was out. I took it in to the dealership and it turned out to be a burnt fuse, and they notified me that it affected my brake lights as well. They replaced the entire fuse box for a price of $515 (this was on wed. 9/18/2013). On Friday, 9/27/2013, the "bulb failure" light came on again, and now my driver's side headlight is out. I have found that this is occurring a lot with other 2009/2010 VW vehicles.

While traveling on rt 287 @ 10:30 pm all of sudden the lights on passenger side went out from front to back of vehicle (headlights, markers, blinkers, and brake light. And then the the other side went out also I found myself in the dark which is a safety concern when you have tractor trailers traveling around you at excessive speeds. Which I almost got hit. The next day everything was working again then it went off again. I can only drive this vehicle before sunset. ( there should be recall on this before someone gets killed as it almost happen to me.) if you research this you will notice that others are having same issue.

Left side headlight, turn signal and tail light went out. I went to the dealer to have it fixed and then 3 weeks later the right side went out. Changed the headlamp and nothing was fixed. The complete right side lighting of the car is out. At certain times during this period it would start working, then stop.
