A recall was issued for the ABS software upgrade which my car was updated in 2017. That is within the 10 year timeframe. Since then, my abs light has went on and off. We kept resetting as advised by Sisk Automotive in Hopkinsville, Ky (not a VW dealer). Wyatt Johnson in Clarksville, Tn completed the recall in 2017. In Feb 2022, the abs has failed creating ECP fault and almost every light on the dash is now on. I believe the abs should have been replaced in 2017 and the dealer just put a quick fix to say the recall was complete. I need help fixing my unsafe car that VW failed to fix in the original recall.

I was driving in Clio alabama on state highway 10, when all of a sudden the EPC light came on my 2009 Volkswagen jetta s 2.5 5cyl..... about 2 miles later down the road; the engine cuts off unexpectedly while I am going 62mph down the highway, with an 18 wheeler directly behind me at the same speed. The car just quits, won't do anything, so I swerved over the side the road so I wouldn't get hit by the 18wheeler and tried to restart the car and it wouldn't do anything. I've had to tow it back to my home and I've had multiple mechanics look at it and try to discover the problem but every time they hook up a diagnostic scanner, and it throws a code, I've purchased the parts that shouldve fixed said dtc code, and rescan the car and that fault code will be gone but there'll be a new one each and every time.. It is costing too much to continue to fix it. It will turn over but it will NOT crank up. I don't know what else to do about it but something is just not right about this issue so I am reporting it as a safety issue because the total loss of power near about caused me to get hit by an 18wheeler at very high speeds and could've been killed. And it's also some type of an electrical issue and I am reporting it to hopefully obtain an answer to the issue, help repairing it or replacing it, or Volkswagen to repurchase the car from me and most importantly I'm reporting this so hopefully it will be able to save someone's life one day. Thanks a lot and have a great day.

Was trying to get the ABS recall fixed took my vehicle into the VW for the recall they gave me a quote of $1543.37 to replace the ABS module and said it wasn't covered. So I called their 1 800 number and they basically said the same thing. But when I read your remedy it says to help correct this defect, your authorized Volkswagen dealer will update the ABS control module software with improved diagnostic capability to detect insufficient pcu ground connection. ABS modules with insufficient ground connections will be replaced. The software update will take less than an hour to complete; if the ABS module requires replacement, this work can take up to a full day to complete. The recall repair will be performed for you free of charge. Am I responsible for this part so that they can update it please help

The driver's side rear door lock does not work. It doesn't work manually or with the key fob. I am concerned about the safety of my passengers if something were to happen and they cannot exit the vehicle from the rear. Also, the inability to lock the rear door is another safety issue. I have noticed several complaints about the same problem. Does it take an actual vehicle fatality for this problem to be dealt with?

I just bought this 2009 volksawagen Jetta this Monday, September 16th 2019, the car has a nonstop beeping noise as soon as the key goes in the ignition (not the open door beep either) and the ABS, brake, and traction control lights are on in the dashboard. The beep is nonstop and very frustrating and starts every time the key goes in. I bought the car for cheap thinking this would be an easy fix.

The headliner adhesive for the vehicle has come unglued and is causing the fabric to sag and prevent a clear line of sight. This is a latent safety defect. From a reasonable search on the internet it appears that many Jetta owners have had the same issue, indicating a common manufacturing issue. The adhesive that was used is the same as the adhesive used on the remainder of the interior panels which are also coming off.

In April of 2016 car just had 6 indicator lights on dash. Just happened one day on the highway. Speedometer, gas gauge none of the dash worked. Red light constant flashing. We ended up having to park it for 6 months while still paying 300 a month car payment and full coverage insurance until I had money to fix it. Around the same time the back passenger window stopped working and still doesn't work. I got this car in March of 2015 I believe. It has cost me so much money and I am hoping that I may be able to get a reimbursement on the 800 I spent to fix it, only to have it do this stuff randomly every few months. Just 2 weeks ago I had to slam on the brakes while driving and there was a bang sound and I drove it home. The next day it drove to work ok and then on way home when it started it immediately was running badly and check engine light and all that was on again. We took it to mechanic and he said thermostat was stuck open and it did need a coil and wires or something also. It has been just constant with this car and I am spending a ton of money. It's really difficult raising a family and working 30 miles away from my home and dealing with this constantly. Oh, and the air conditioner only works in the winter time. Definately not when idleling. Mechanic says that's a 400$ part so I'm just trying to scrounge up the money to fix that part of the electric disaster this car is before it hits 101 on my days sitting in traffic. Please help. The document I have to upload is the reciept from the repair. It was messed up for almost a year before I could fix it. Mostly just sitting.

My key is stuck in the ignition and my car would not turn off. The car was in park; however, the ignition switch would not turn back to the off position. It would only turn forward. My car ran for 4 hours until my husband came home from work. He had to remove the fuel pump fuse and disconnect the battery to turn the car off. The car continued to run after he disconnected the battery. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership so that they can remove the key and repair the vehicle. The dealership stated that they have never encountered this problem; however, I am reading on the internet and it appears to be a common problem with Volkswagen. Unfortunately VW won't issue a recall unless enough customers complain.
