Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

Passat GLS 1.8L Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

I bought the car second hand from a dealer, It worked great I drove it home the next day I went to start it and it was dead, We tried to boost it but it still wouldn't start. It has no power nothing you couldn't even roll up the windows or get the doors to unlock. I got it towed to the VW dealership because we though maybe it was a security feature and it locked the key out. However it's been two days and they can't figure the problem out and say there is no connection from the vehicles computer to the car so they will have to manually take it apart and try to see what's 91$ a hour plus parts...
