On January 17 I had work performed for recall 01V157000, which involved replacing the fuel sending unit to prevent the car from running out of gas when the fuel guage indicated a full tank. On January 20, I experienced the very problem that the recall was supposed to correct. I had not previously experineced this problem. I ran out of gas, although the fuel guage showed more than 1/4 tank remaining.
