They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. The dealer was contacted and advised him that the occupant weight sensor may have failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered him a 10 percent coupon. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000. The current mileage was approximately 110,000.

The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, where the front driver's side air bag was replaced. One year later, after the repair was performed the failure recurred. The air bag was replaced for a second time. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 89,000.
