when vehicle stop, the engine surges up and down
I have a 2000 Volvo S80 2.9L non-turbo with 138,000 miles. When vehicles comes to a stop, redlight or stop sign, the engine surge up and down really bad. The RPM surge from 200 to 1200, i must keep my brakes applied to keep from running into the back of vehicle in front of me. I'm afraid to let my family drive it for fear of them panicking and running in the back of another vehicle, redlight or stop sign. i would really appreciate some help from Volvo , dealership or manufacture to advice a fix to problem before someone is seriously injured or killed, from the complaints i have been reading, i am not the only individual that has this problem or consern...HELP PLEASE!
