Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The power steering makes a very loud groaning noise all of the time. I am concerned that there could be a steering failure. The dealer has checked this complaint a many times dating back to 2002 and found no problems and said the power steering fluid was normal and not leaking. Problem is getting worse.

The consumer stated on 2001 Volvo S80 the steering wheel locked while driving 5 mph. This lasted for about 3-4 seconds and then the steering resumed back to normal. The consumer was turning the wheel so hard that it broke the turn signal. The consumer took the car to the dealership and they said that they had never heard of this. The dealer constacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer denied any knowledge of the problem. The dealer could not find anything wrong the car and returned it back to the owners. The car has not had any more problems.
