Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

1. can barely see out of inside rearview mirror in the daytime. Particularly hazardous if cars following do not have their headlights on. Volvo says they cannot lighten/correct the auto dimming mirror. 2. blis system is not reliable for cars in blind spot and should be ignored. However, it cannot be turned off. Response from Volvo: Hi, thank you for contacting Volvo cars of North America. The auto-dim rearview mirror is unable to be lightened for daytime use. There is no permanent shut-off for the blis function in your vehicle. Of course, it can be shut off during use, but must be done manually each time the vehicle is started. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to respond. Drive safely, Volvo cars of North America

Rear window in 2010 Volvo XC60 exploded after small impact into thousands of very sharp shards (not the "pebbles" as is supposed to happen). Shards were sent throughout the cabin including to the passenger seats, windscreen, speedo, etc. This does not seem the appropriate way for tempered glass to behave.
