Mazda Tribute Defect Contact Form

2005 Mazda Tribute / Ford Escape Rear Shock Tower Corrosion Investigation.

The law firm of Kantrowitz Goldhamer & Graifman is currently investigating potential claims involving alleged defects in the rear shock towers of model year 2005 Mazda Tribute and Ford Escape vehicles.

Owners of these vehicles are reporting major corrosion problems in the rear wheel wells where the shock absorbers are mounted to the subframe of the vehicle. The first symptoms of the problem are loud noises such as thumping or knocking coming from rear of vehicles. Once the corrosion progresses far enough, the wheel and suspension become detached from the subframe, at which point drivers can lose control of the vehicles.

Owners are finding that repairs can cost thousands of dollars, and may not even be possible given the significant structural problems associated with the defect. Mazda has issued a recall for this problem on 2001-04 models, but has failed to recall the 2005 model year despite numerous reports of this dangerous defect.

As part of our on-going investigation, we are looking for qualifying vehicle owners. To speak with us, please contact us by filling out the form to the right.
