Mercedes-Benz Recalls 43 Cars For Interior Fuse Box Problems
Three Mercedes-Benz models might have loose fuses that could cause failures of safety systems.

— Mercedes-Benz is recalling 43 cars because the interior fuse boxes could contain fuses that weren't installed properly.

Mercedes says the 2014 CLA 250C, 2014 CLA 250C 4Matic and the 2014 CLA 45 AMG 4Matic cars could lose many features including the windshield wipers, front passenger seat occupancy recognition system and passenger-side airbag warning lights. In addition, the instrument cluster panel could fail and the failure of the passenger airbag equals no protection in a crash.

The recalled cars were manufactured during the following periods:

  • 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250C: Built September 10, 2014, to September 11, 2014.
  • 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250C 4Matic: Manufactured September 13, 2014, to September 25, 2014.
  • 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG 4Matic: Built September 10, 2014, to September 25, 2014.

The recall should begin August 7, 2015, when Mercedes-Benz dealers will inspect and re-position the fuses and if needed, replace the entire interior fuse box.

Owners of the recalled cars can call Mercedes-Benz at 800-367-6372 and make reference to recall number 2015060007.
