The shift stick started popping from being in gear back to neutral, while driving. This started happening just in 5th gear, but then began to happen in all other gears over the course of 4 months. It got to the point where I was continually putting the car back in to gear while on the road. Finally, the transmission blew out with a big bang and jolt while driving about 45 mph. I opted to have a salvaged transmission put in the car, however probably just should have sold the vehicle.
I had to replace the Transmission when my car only had 55,000 miles. I did not know until today that the drivetrain was transferable to second owner and it would cover 5 yrs/60,000 miles. I had the transmission replaced and it cost me around $900.00. Can I get a refund for my expense?
