High-pitched noticeable screeching sound from blower motor, worse at higher fan speeds. Only thing that will drown it out is loud music. Problem persists to this day, but it is deemed "characteristic of the car" by Toyota. They need a better blower fan speed sensor that doesn't produce the whine.

Got the corolla hatchback not even a week ago and whenever the blower is running, there is this annoying, high pitched sound that gets louder as the fan blows harder.

I can only use the air or heat on a low setting because the faster the blades move the higher the noise gets. After a couple minutes I will get a headache but I deal with it because I can't drive with no A/C on its way too hot here.

High pitch whine that comes from the engine bay at certain fan speeds. I have fiddled around trying different fan speeds and it seems like half of them produce this whine. It's very annoying and has even given me a headache (only had it for one day). I am going to take it in back to the dealer after the weekend. I'm hoping it just needs to be broken in (only 50kms at the moment).
