Driving a 2010 Chevy Camaro, my reduced engine light came on and my vehicle went from 60 mph to 30 instantly on the highway almost causing a major accident. I have read on the forums and this problem is happening to a ton of GM Chevy car owners. This could cause somebody to die, and needs to be recalled. The problem is with the throttle body. Save lives do something. Reduced engine power service stabilitrak ( this was the issue ).

This Camaro has been in our family since August 2011, as a daily driver for my wife, purchased from a GM certified used dealer. Leaving the parking lot from a trip to walmart today, not even going 10mph, the vehicle begins to slow down stating "engine power is reduced", with both the check engine light on and the stability trac light on. We were able to limp home under 40mph. Nothing is noticeably wrong, but now the car runs on a rough idle, it's sitting stationary for now. Doing research, I have found this is a common problem with LS3's, mostly having to do with the throttle body itself or accompanying sensors. I'm going to change to throttle body and go from there. My major concern is that why isn't this problem a recall worthy issue. It seems to be a major problem with 2010 Camaro's, and many other GM vehicles of the same year with a V8 engine not necessarily the LS3. Why does it take loss of life for GM to fix a major consistent problem. I am really losing faith in this company and it's products. Our 2010 Camaro ss should not be the vehicle sitting in our driveway broken down over a 2001 Camaro ss and a 2002 S10 truck. What is happening to the quality of GM vehicles these days? if they stand by their product, then they need own up to its shortcomings.

Traveling westbound on interstate 80 from reno to san francisco 55-65 mph, without warning my 2010 Camaro had 100 % loss of all power and operating functions; out of control down the mountain during heavy traffic I was able to stop the vehicle by jamming into the guardrail, trapping myself in car. Nothing worked...no onstar...I called my daughter in reno and told her to send help..I was in shock. I had no clue what happened or why..but after the traffic slowed down I exited the vehicle, still no help or response. Car started with limited abilities 25 mph; was advised that it was okay to drive back to reno and "bring it on in" at my convenience. Nothing was done. The car ready before the shuttle got back to the shop. The service men shrugged it off and told me to watch for the warning signs; I can't have any serious problems because they haven't had any electrical problems with these cars across the board??!I had no warning signs..I am lucky that I was not killed and did not kill anybody with my imaginary car problems. 2nd incident all systems went crazy, extreme heat coming from dash, no heat turned on, false readings, all warning lights and gauges went off, power locks don't work, no more auto start I requested service with no response for 5 days. I left a very expressive message for fleet manager and service dept finally responded. Bad service..rude. I paid over 300 for car rental GM picked up 1 day they concluded again nothing wrong with car. Malfunction was caused by snow and cold weather (not acceptable)because it wasn't driven in snow. 3rd time driving with kids on freeway in reno...guess what no power!! was advised once again that I could drive it on in the next business day. Well I learned the GM secret. Let her sit and she'll reset. I will not be able to live with the consequences of a death caused by a $50000 time bomb. Dream car not worth a life or the fear of what might happen everytime you start it.
