I didn't know, when I bought the truck, that it didn't have a lock on the passenger side door. It didn't come with a remote opener (FOB), which I would have been satisfied with. When I complained to the dealership, they gave me a song and dance about the fact that since it came with a lock on the tailgate, GM took away a lock (passenger side door lock.) They even told me that in their research, they had found that since people didn't use the passenger side door lock very much that the locks would rust and become inoperative so, according to the dealership, GM decided to do away with the lock altogether! I told the dealership representative that he was full of crap. they gave me a few other excuses, as if they were throwing alot of things against the wall hoping that one of them would stick and I would believe at least one of them. they also said that GM might have eliminated the lock because this is a low end work truck. I told the dealership that I wouldn't buy another one or its cousin the Canyon. thanks
