Every time I start the car the service air bag light comes on. This sounds like a common problem with the wire harness under the seats so if you move the seats a wire gets loose causing the light to come on.

The passenger air bag light would sometimes come on and then go off. Dealership said that the wires under the seat had been kicked or moved and the sensor stoppped working. They would just wiggle it and it would go off. Now at 118,000 the light will not go on at all. the dealership said that the seat cushion we use causes the sensor to not work. Not sure I believe them.

Bought this car in February 2014. Constant wiring issues from bumper to bumper. Air bag light goes on and off. Bumps and extremely windy days seem to cause this issue more. But then again it happens so often I may be imagining that. A recall would be nice. This car has so many issues I think it would cost more to fix them than the car is even worth. First and last time I buy a Chevy.

Service air bag light keeps coming on. Took car to one Chevy dealer twice, they could not find the code or get the light to come on but they said it was the sensor under the passenger seat that had been bumped by paper towels under the seat, then charged me $75.00 and said it was fixed. Light continues to come on, and then other problems which I will put in a new complaint. Chevy dealer says they can't do anything till they see the code of the light come back on, which I can't leave work and go by there when the light comes on so randomly.

This has been a recall on several other models including the Impala, Camaro, etc. Dealer informed me that the fix involved removing the passenger seat and removing the connector and soldering the wires back together. I would have to pay $265 for this 'fix' as it wasn't part of the recall.

What a bunch of crap. If they know it's a problem on other vehicles, why wouldn't they fix mine?

When I test drove this car last year the airbag light was on. I still bought the car and was told this would be fixed. It has been a year and a half and the airbag light is still coming on and the car has been in 4 times to "FIX" this problem with no real fix. This is a safety issue and I have emailed Chevy at least 3 times with no response back.

Believe me, this girl will never buy a Chevy Malibu from Midway Chevy in Plainwell Michigan again. The service sucks and they do not care. So I am resorting to posting on the internet in hope that they will get the message that this is a safety issue and if I were to get into an accident and my passenger gets hurt because of a faulty airbag they will be sued!!!
