I took the vehicle to the purchasing dealership service department. They took a look at the system and proclaimed it to be working and found nothing wrong with it. I am a long time Chevy owner; a customer of the same dealership where I have purchased 9 new vehicles, and have had several vehicles with the Universal Home Remote system in them. Each one of those has worked very well and able to open my garage door from 75' away as I approach. I have programmed and reprogrammed this system a number of times to no avail. If it ever works at all (2% of the time), I must be directly in front of the garage door with the front bumper all but touching the door. It is verified NOT to be the garage door opener by two methods. (1) The original Genie garage door opener works fine and the same as it always has. And-(2) We also purchased a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse LTZ with the Universal Home Remote system in it. It works just as well as previous UHR systems we have owned.
I believe that the 2500's UHR is manufactured by a different company than the one in the Traverse. I believe it is manufactured by Lear (?).
