CarComplaints.com Notes: What the heck happened here? A year after getting our "seal of pretty good" for the 2004, Chrysler turns around and delivers this crapwagon.

This minivan has problems ranging from rack and pinion steering failure to door locks that won't let you out. And trust me, you'll want to get out.

Town & Country 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission

Followup on the AC extension issue. The AC leak is locate just behind the rear passenger wheel well, between the connector block and the auto body. Use UV leak detector to isolate the source. Initally I guesstimated 3-5 hundred $, but after looking at it it looks more in the 5 to 1000 range. Lots of man hours.........and a $30 part.

This van is ONLY 3 years old and the AC unit is non-functioning - due to a evaporator core extension part failure. And where is this stupid part located?!? How about right behind the passenger side rear wheel well. This way it can take a hit by everything that the tire flings at it.

And if that isn't bad enough - we can't even get a replacement part for it, because regular auto places don't have a friggin' clue what I am asking for!!!! And the dealership wants 500 bucks to fix it - if and when the part can be obtained. The guy said there is 2300+ parts on back order?!?!? WTF?!?!?! They are saying "maybe" 2-3 weeks, but they have heaps of people waiting before us. And MOPAR (Chrysler's own part store) says it won't be in till Aug 15th! I'm thinking they know more.

And I have two road trips planned this summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How lovely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just can't believe this van is only 3 years old and I can't even use the friggin' ac!!!!

GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
