Traveling I-5 at 65 mph when the car lost all power. No response in gas pedal, engine stuttered. Pulled off freeway and put it in park and turned the car off. Waited for around 10 -20 seconds then restarted the vehicle. Then all power and driveability came back. This is the 5th time this has happened for this car and becoming more frequently. Took the vehicle in to have it put on a diagnosis. Code is P0016. Crank shaft position, cam shaft position correlation/bank 1 sensor a. also code P0128. Thermostat rationality test.

Power shuts off randomly, stalling, acceleration lost, but will fire right back up if you flip the key around or put in neutral. Very unsafe if traffic coming and it shuts right down. Also while in park it's shuts off

Car will shut off going 45 mph, at a stop light (0 mph) or when crossing traffic intersections for examples (at most going 10 or 15 mph). I will attempt to restart and the car will start up, stall up and then shut off again - when this happens, I lose power steering. I have to switch gears from drive to park and then turn the car off and then on again in hopes it will start. As you're driving, you can feel when the car is about to cut off, it throttles ahead a bit and revs, then the car beeps and turns off, while the gear is in drive and turning my wheel does nothing. I notice that this issue would usually happen after a fill up my gas tank, so I started only filling up halfway, but the issue still persists. This issue became heavily frequent yesterday where the car stalled and cut off at least 4 different times while making a 7 mile drive back home. This was very very scary in my eyes, especially with a passenger in my seat. This is a huge safety concern because the vehicle is shutting off while in motion and powering steering is lost. If this happens on the highway going 60+ miles per hour, or turning into oncoming traffic, there is a guaranteed accident, possibly resulting in serious injury or death. I believe there is an issue with the gas tank and the evap canister that causes the sensors to think that gas is overfilling the engine, which shuts off the car. This was filed under NHTSA PE13-016 (which appears to be closed or inaccessible- https://www-ODI.NHTSA.dot.gov/acms/cs/documentlist.xhtml?docid=PE13016&doctype=inv). This safety concern really needs to be looked into.

The car will shut off randomly, the error code keeps pointing back to the ECM and I have had that replaced now it is doing it again and there is no warning when it happens on the freeway it jolts like it wants to shutoff but it doesn't the RPM's go down and it revs back up, it started just with it having the RPM's go down and rev back up randomly and its been happening for 2 years now it just shuts off and starts back up immediately but sometimes ill drive a couple feet and it will die again. It has been in and out of the shop for the last 8 months. They have sent the computer back to have it analysed and to repair the new one I got now. When driving it also shuts off and then just starts up back by itself. I see this everywhere on the internet and forums, some say ECM needs to be replaced other say the fuel tank and the other says something about the key fob not recognizing the key. I want this investigated and a recall to be issued. From everyone I have spoken to every single 2006 Dodge Charger has this problem with the 5.7 lt with the hemi.

My car's engine stalls without warning while driving. I had problems with this when I bought the car within the same week from a used car dealer. It now affects my headlights by making them flash on and off while driving. The car has been in and out of the shop for the past year and no one can seem to find the issue. There is a past time device installed which interfered with the security system. The dealership took out the security system and shortly thereafter the engine stalls began. Engine stalls occur while driving or stopped at traffic lights. It happens randomly but not often. The headlights happen everyday and is getting worse. The vehicle is becoming undrivable but no service tech can find the issue.

When I fully fill and top off my gas tank the car stalls and sputters. I know I am not the only one having this problem as I have seen people complaining online. My car is a Dodge Charger rt 2006. This is unsafe and there should be an immediate recall the fix the vapor canister and the gas tank. It might be expensive but if your car is on the highway going 60 mph and power steering fails when you're driving it could be fatal. Fix this immediately.

While driving on the highway going 60mph in the center lane during busy traffic and it was dark, the vehicle just shut completely off. I also had a my 14 month baby in the car. There was lost of power, steering was lost. I had to shift it in neutral and glide to the shoulder lane almost being hit by a truck. I turned the key off and tried to restart the car, after a few attempts the car started, when I shifted it in drive and proceeded to try and get back on the road it shut off again. The engine, ABS, traction control & electrical light was on. I tried restarting it and it started and drove like nothing had happened, even the lights were no longer on. I took it to the shop and they ran diagnostics and tried to duplicate the problem, they couldn't help me and says that until it happens again they can't do anything. I called the dealership and they said the same thing, they said that they have never heard of this happening. They said they would keep my vehicle and try to figure out what is going on, if they don't find anything than they would keep it and try to duplicate the problem and I could be without my car until they figure it out. Since the first incident it has happened at lease 10 more times. I researched it online and there are multiple cases of this happening with Chrysler vehicles. There is now an investigation ongoing but until then many owners have to deal with this problem or go without their vehicle. Many have said that it happened after refueling their car, for me it has happened a couple of times after refueling, but multiple times while it was at 1/2 and 1/4 tank. A really bad accident to include serious injuries and or death to the driver can happen and what will happen then? before this occurs something needs to be done immediately and the company should pay for the repairs to correct his issue. A recall needs to be issued immediately!

The ABS, brake and traction control lights came on. Then when you hit the brakes you would feel a vibration. The brakes do not vibrate any more but all the lights are still on. There was a recall for the 2007 Charger for this but not the 2006.
