While driving my battery light come on. That is due to alternator malfunction. The first time it happen all my electrical devices where going on and off. And my steering wheel locked and unlocked due to being a electronic steering. What I did I tried to pull over and stop at a safe place and waiting and the vehicle when back to normal mode except the battery light stayed on and the message in my cluster that said "battery safe mode". so I went back home and checked the voltage on my battery that read 11.8 to 12.3. so I took it to the dealer for the recall of the alternator. The dealer replaced it and said it's ok now. I took it home and on the way home it happen again and I took it back to the dealer and got it checked. And they said they found corrosion the signal plug of the alternator. They cleaned it and said it ok now. A week passed by and it happen again all electrical started to turn on and off including the steering locking up and the battery light came on. And I took it back again to the dealer. And now they said they have to charge me to diagnose the issue if it's not the alternator. Charging system is not part of the alternator and they charge for that issue. Isn't the charging system part of the alternator like the voltage regulator that is in the PCM? if that is a bad component and making the alternator malfunction it's a problem for not making any current. All this happen in motion on street and on highway. All this started on June 3 2020 till now June 25 2020.

As driving up the highway my 2013 Dodge Charger jerked and when I looked at the dashboard there was a message that said 'service transmission shut off engine to engage park' my engine light was also on. I pulled over but my car would not go into park. I tried to pull back off to get to a safe place little did I know that my car would not pick up speed, traffics was approaching and there is was in the middle of the road trying pushing down on the gas pedal to hurry and move before the coming traffick made it to me, it was an 18 wheeler. I could have been dead today due to this issue and I'm not wondering why there is nothing being done about this problem.

Alternator recall. Engine interiors lights flash while off, car intermittently will go off. Power steering not available. Chrysler mechanics would not look into my power steering issues. Told me my alternator is fine. I do not feel my alternator is fine and want it replaced. I do not feel safe driving with my children.

While driving my 2013 Dodge Charger daytona at 60mph the vehicle just stopped working. The power just failed, I had no break or steering and just had to pray no one pulled out in front of me or I would have hit them. I have been researching this since my dealership says their is no open recall but there are literally hundreds of complaints of the same problem all over different websites. This is scary and very dangerous since people typically drive very fast in these vehicles! I could've been killed or killed someone else! not to mention that waiting for the tow truck I couldn't even move the car or have any hazards on.

The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Charger. While driving 20 mph, the ABS and vehicle traction control warning indicators illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The contact also stated that the battery saver mode indicator illuminated. The contact stated that there was smoke emitting from the engine compartment of the vehicle. The contact was concerned that the alternator failed, which caused the smoke in the engine compartment. The contact stated that the vehicle would be towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V634000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

Traveling on highway, cruise control turned off, ABS/traction control light came on then check engine came on and the car stalled and would not go anywhere. I am thinking a faulty alternator. Needs to be on recall for alternators.

I was on the freeway when my cars lights started flashing and would get on battery saver mode and was hard trying to steer on to emergency lane until it completely shut off on me. Luckily I was half way on the slow lane and safe lane. It would not turn on and it started smoking when I tried getting out I was completely locked in and could not turn on the car to place it on park or open the doors. I had to get out through the window that I already had down. I then had to call my boyfriend to pick up the car in a trailer. When I was out the car I noticed red/pinkish water coming out of the car.

Currently having issues with the ABS and traction control light. Vehicle was on recall for the alternator and the ESC light came on. The recall notice stated that the alternator could cause the ESC light to come on but when the alternator was replaced the light stayed on. Call Dodge, they said that the light should reset itself but it didn't. this problem was not covered by the recall; however this problem was caused by the defaulted alternator which led to the other problems that I'm having. The ABS caused the master cylinder to go out. Now I have to replace the ESC module and master cylinder at my own expense.

Currently having an ongoing issue with the ABS and traction control lights. The vehicle is in the shop for the second time in less than 2 months for the same lights. Twice I was driving down the road, the brake pedal would do something funny and the those lights would come on. The second time(currently and occurred on June 4th) the airbag warning light came on as well. The first time the ABS and traction light came on, I was told it was a ABS sensor, and I paid the dealership $250. This time less than 2 months later, the dealership is saying it is yet another sensor causing those lights to illuminate. And as far as the airbag goes, it's faulty wiring and that it needed another wiring harness. These repairs would cost me over $600. I have two friends that have the same vehicle and are having the exact same problems with the ABS and traction control lights. This seems to be a overall Dodge issue as far as the Chargers go.
