The seat belt chime in my 2005 Dakota is driving me crazy! This has been going on for a year or so and now I have to do someting about it, the funny thing about it is when you are not wearing the seat belt it only chimes for a short while but when you wear it properly it will not go off until you turn the engine off or the engine is idling.

We are experiencing a problem with the seat belt; the bell sounds on, and on, and on. The seat belt shows up on the dash board and does not go out. I see that there is only one other complaint along these lines...did they not sell any more? I feel that the dealer should not charge anything to get this problem resolved, as it is a manufacture problem not the consumers fault. Why should we pay for their mistake in building this automobile? They should recall all the makes for that year and repair them at their cost.

The seatbelt light and bell keeps going off in my 2005 Dodge Dakota. I took it to the dealership figuring what ever was wrong with it they would fix at no cost because it is either under warranty or a safety issue.

Well, the part costs $11.00 and they wanted to charge me $115.00. The warranty states seatbelt assembly is not covered under warranty. Its part of the seatbelt!!!! Something you have to wear to be safe in any car don't you think they should fix it for free??? Its a malfunction in safety equipment...
