2016 Dodge Grand Caravan, driver side passenger door will not unlock remotely or manually. Passenger side sliding door unlocks on its own with no input from remote. It's definitely a safety hazard for children. Contacted service department of Sumter Chrysler, Jeep, Ram in Sumter, SC. The technician said he was unaware of this problem on Dodge minivans. Said it would cost $108 just to look at it and then undetermined amount to repair. The technician did not bother to check if anyone else was aware of this type of problem with Dodge Caravans. Guess I will give up on Dodge and go back to Fords.

As I have 4 children, you can imagine how annoying it must be to have your kids fighting over who gets in first, who is stepping on whom, school supplies being ruined. Not to mention the horrible possibility of an accident and any of my children being trapped inside! I've searched the internet and found far too many complaints on this same problem for many of the year models. This is an ongoing dangerous and potentially life threatening situation!!! As a parent whom has lost a child, I could not express strongly enough the lack of ability to ever fully recover from a loss of this magnitude. No one, I repeat no one should ever willingly put another persons children at risk! The Dodge and Chrysler corporation are doing just that! I am having this problem fixed and if possible speaking with the media as to inform any potential new customers of this issue.

Driver side sliding door is stuck in locked position. Will nor unlock manually or power. No cause or mistreatment of the door. We always use the automatic power closure. Estimate at the dealership is $1100 to fix. They said whole locking mechanism needs to be replaced. This is a safety issue. Passengers could be trapped inside in an accident.

My driver side sliding door will not open or unlock. This includes automatically with the buttons in the van and on the remote or manually. I paid a mechanic to figure out what was wrong with it. They said a plastic piece of the actuator is worn down and it will cost $800 to fix. This is a safety issue considering most of the time I have 4 children in the back and if something were to happen they cannot use that door to get out.
