Min $500 to change out (have to remove the entire dash to replace it!) and the cost of the part... don't forget to change the AC (condensor?) that is next to it on the wall also while you are there! Might as well, while you have everything apart right?

The Vent Sys ingests trash with the outside air, passes it through the fan, across the fan motor voltage controller, and deposits it in front of the coil. The plenum box does not have a trap door to open and clean it out, which I made one. Difficult to clean through the fan hole, if at all.

Typical Chrysler, build it, but not to work on or to maintain. I caught the fire before it burned the whole truck up!

The dam bleeep bleeep heater core is a "B" to get out. still tryng to get it out and it does not help when you look at all the books and they do not tell you about the eight screws that hold that Dam cracking falling apart dash in. You have to take the windshield out to take the dash off or it breaks all up in your hands. I thoought it was the sun that caused it till I have been reading all the complaints. I smacked a fly on my dash a year ago and put my hand through the dash and cut myself. I thought it was just the sun. So when I tried to take the dash apart to get to the heater core and now I have pieces for a dash. Not to mention cuts all over my hands. I'm so mad.. You would think they would make the truck to be worked on

When the vents started blowing out smoke I thought the engine had caught on fire. I pulled over and popped the hood to find everything was ok. I turned off all the controls for the heater/ac system and took the truck to the mechanic. The casing was cracked and the "smoke " was antifreeze, coolant or whatever is in the system. Very unhealthy. The repair was costly, close to $900.00. Something seems to be continually going wrong with the truck. I have to add another complaint for the rest./

This has been really a concern wondering about my families and my health as I am driving and smoke is coming out of vents. Not sure if we are in danger. After talking to a couple sources I was told it is the heater core leaking and that it is going to cost over $1000.00 to repair because the dash will have to come out and that is a whole other problem in itself. I was not able to repair so I have been stuck rolling down my window so the smokey substance would drift out the window- what a joke! Always wondering if my family and I are safe breathing in the car. I finally was able to see a mechanic that said he'd disconnect it for me, so now I have no heat,but..... at least the smoke is gone. Hopefully I'll be able to get it repaired someday. Just wondering if a cracked dashboard and heater core are related for each others damage?hmmmm??
