A warning light is displayed stating the the passenger door is ajar when it is not. The door can be repeatedly opend and closed attempting to make the warning light go off, it does not work the majority of the time. The interior lights will not go off, which makes driving a hazard. Also, the door will not look when the warning light is on. Another safety concern.

Door latch ajar warning. Doors are unable to stay locked. It is unsafe. The warning light for "door ajar" and "put gear in park" comes on nonstop while driving. The light stays on after parked for at least 20 minutes which drains battery. I went to the dealer and had to pay $615.91 to fix. I would like to be reimbursed for faulty locks. I am also afraid the other three are going to do the same thing.

Frequently a warning light will come on stating that the collision warning censor is blocked. As a result the cruise control will not work and the collision warning feature is also not working. By pressing an żokż button the warning light goes away and the system seems to work properly. It appears that this warning light comes on after going over a bump but not all bumps. The dealer has quoted me a price of nearly $2000 to replace the warning censor, and bracket. However, I am not convinced that the censor is defective since it often works properly.

The driver's door appears to close properly however a warning light stating that the door is ajar comes on. I open and close the 2 or 3 times with a hard slam and the light goes out. The car doors will not lock if this warning light is on. I am scheduled to have this repaired at the Ford dealer at a cost of nearly $400. The dealer has told me that this is a recurring problem on the Edge. The car has approx 42,000 miles.

My Ford Edge,2012, had a "door ajar" warning and it required slamming the door very hard to get the warning removed. My lights would stay on after I parked and again require slamming the door multiple times. My back up camera will work and then not work making that safety feature unreliable! I had the door latch replaced at a cost of 325 dollars. Other Ford products have also experienced these problems and are under a recall. I believe this issue is not the result of careless treatment by my wife or me. We are both over 70 years old.

6/24/16 took car to dealer for check engine light. Repair $329. Indicated purge valve stuck open at times. 6/30/16 check engine light again. Indicated under boost....replaced waste gate vacuum sensor. $307. Returned to dealer again for check engine light due to hose clamp loose. Began experiencing door ajar light and interior lights that don't turn off. Returned to dealer on 8/15/16 and were told the turbo assembly needs to be replaced for $2500+. could lose power and cause further engine damage if driven. Tried contacting Ford via email with no response. There are clearly safety issues and recall should be issued and repairs at Ford expense. Tired of reading of these same Ford issues but selective state and model repair.

The door ajar warning light stays on when the door(driver side) is closed. You have to slam the door hard to get the light off. While driving it can come on. While parked it can come on and trigger the alarm in car.

1) "shift to park" error: Have to click the shifter one or two times to clear it. Until I do, the seat does not move back for exiting. 2) "driver door ajar" error: Have to open and close the door, sometimes only once, but usually many times in order to clear the error. 3) if the "door" error is not cleared, the "shift" error will appear while moving, whenever I come to a stop. Also, the audible signal will kick in. 4) at times the driver door will not unlock with the touch of my hand. I suspect when I shut the door last, the "door" error was probably in effect. Service: I actually took my car to the dealer and all they could tell me was that the shifter had to be replaced for $500. They couldn't even find the "door" error. I think this merits a recall notice and Ford should repair these problems at no or reasonable costs.

Sensor on pessenger door is showing open an door is not open and inside lights stay on and runs the battery down. Had to replace battery due to inside lights staying on. Doors will not lock when existing vehicle. Driving at night and inside light stays on is a driving safety factor. Car has been in the shop four times for this same reason. Unable to fix it.

On multiple occasions while driving between the speeds of 25mph and 80mph on european roads/highways the car loses ability to accelerate regardless of pressure on gas pedal. I had to pull over, luckily avoiding cars and possible collisions. Car displayed yellow wrench and "AWD off" on left side display. Once in safe area I turned off the car, waited for a few minutes and turned it back on without immediate incident. This happened a total of 7 times within a week, however, after contacting Ford service stateside I was told to go to an italian Ford dealership. However, I stopped at two Ford service centers located in vicenza, italy and the mechanics will not touch my car due to the model not being sold anywhere in europe. The problem stopped up until this past week where it has happened again twice within 3 days at, luckily, low speeds and avoiding all cars/hazards. We will attempt to bring it to a local mechanic in hopes of getting the problem fixed as we are leaving for the states in less than a month due to military pcs orders.
