Handle trim piece on tailgate (piece with Ford emblem) color does not match rest of car.
The Ford dealer and Ford admit it does not match however Ford will not cover it. Just look at this piece on any 08 Escape and see the difference. Ford says they are painted at a different time then the rest of the car that is why there is a difference. But that is no excuse I am sure that if the Ford exec's bought a new suit and one arm was a different color they would want the suit replaced so why not the part.
What I ended up doing is getting the chrome version of this part from my local Ford dealer (this chrome version is really for a Limited). The dealer paid a portion for me because I am a good customer of theirs. Ford did not pay anything because they feel it is not an issue because all XLT's have the same problem.
All we as consumers can do is complain to Ford Customer Service then maybe if there are enough complaints they will do something. Maybe like the Continental tire problems they will address it in the future years.
