Hesitation during take off when stopped. Very dangerous! No one can duplicate problem. So I can not have passengers in car with me. Still no repairs. Scary just going to market ford co. Will not help in any way! Shame on them! Shame on me for buying ford again. Lesson learned!
I noticed the same problem as the person above, when shifting from 1st to 2nd. The service department said it is normal gear noise, I don't agree. Any news on a fix?
My experience is if you shift 1st to 2nd under 1500 rpm, you are drowning the engine. then you will hear and feel valve chatter. It means that the car does not have enough torque to get you going into 2nd, especially if you are at 1200 or 1000 rpm. This is unfortunate and frustrating, and more likely to happen in 1st gear.
The remedy to this is either: a) to go faster in 1st before shifting into 2nd (and 2nd to 3rd) and use more fuel, e.g. until you see the rpm needle go past 1500; or b) if you shift below 1300, you will have to go very light on the gas pedal until you pass 1500 rpm. At 1600, you can floor it. Also make sure your tires are well inflated, like 36 psi cold pressure. This will give less friction and rolling resistance.
I'm unhappy about this also, and there was no manual to try when I ordered mine. I'm want to ask the dealer if there is any way to tune it to get more torque at low rpm but I'm pretty sure they'll say engine not tunable, although maybe an O2 sensor's not working?.
