2020 Ford Explorer Platinum began having electrical issues with all warning lights on dash coming on and giving error messages (front collision, hill side assist, etc). The vehicle was taken in for service and the initial diagnosis was faulty sensors.
During road trip from south Florida to South Carolina, the vehicle broke down one time in Central Florida and was towed to Gary Yeoman Ford, where the diagnosis was a faulty sensor and battery. After the repair, we continued on our trip and the vehicle broke down again near Jacksonville, Florida. It was towed to Auto Nation Ford of Jacksonville where it underwent extensive diagnosis and it was determined the alternator would stop working after the vehicle was on for an extended period of time. This would stop charging the battery, which would eventually drain and cripple the vehicle's electrical system. That's what caused the vehicle to completely shut off.
We are out of a vehicle for nearly 2 months and filed a Florida Lemon Law complaint against Ford. An agreement was eventually reached with Ford for a buy-back. I hope our resolution helps others with a similar situation identify that faulty alternators may be the cause of many of the electrical issues you are facing with your complaints.
