lazer welds in roof rusted corroded lazer welds in roof rusted corroded lazer welds in roof rusted corroded lazer welds in roof rusted corroded lazer welds in roof rusted corroded lazer welds in roof rusted corroded

I live in Ohio. Granted it is rust bucket heaven here. I had a 2003 F150 that was very good to me. Never had any major mechanical issues and was very reliable up until my child put his foot through the floor board of my 2003 F150 extended cab. Yes, by the 9th year it was pretty rotted out.

I made it from September of 2003 to September 2013 when I purchased my NEW 2013 F150 Crew Cab. I have had it for 18 months and just found out the roof was rotting away. It is in the laser welds in the roof seals in the valley. I had this one under coated and sealed hoping to get more than just 10 years out of this truck. Dealer admitted there is a factory defect and has honored the repairs. They stated it will be an extensive repair and will take a week or two. They stated they pretty much have to gut the cab of windows and interior to repair the bad welds from the factory laser welds and may have to re-skin the roof.

At only 32,000 miles and will soon be out of warranty, I fear that I will be screwed by the value and warranty...
