leather seats are turning black I purchased the Ford F150 Supercrew truck Nov 2015 with 15 miles on it. The black coming thru the leather drivers seat started sometime around March-April 2016. June 2015 we took the truck to the dealer who in turn sent a warranty request to Corporate - who immediately declined any resolution stating, "clothing color transfer and/or soiled seat cover. Both of which are non-warrantable conditions."

(Note: As of Aug 26, 2015 Ford no longer covers for any non-warrantable conditions to leather/vinyl seat covering).

Now, if that were true (that the discoloring is from our bodies), why isn't the black discoloring coming thru all over the drivers seat? And why isn't it just as bad on the front passenger seat? The passenger front seat has a few spots on the bottom part of the seat. But, just spotting.

Side note: we have 'used' the heat seats when in the truck, due to bad backs. And I have to agree, they do become extremely hot. But, I have not had the temperature tested. We also have not used the cool temp buttons but will, after reading all the negative reports I've read on this website.

Update from Jul 21, 2016: The dealer sent Corporate the standard email... the "customer" objected to the declined decision and wants to appeal a 2nd time. In less than 24hrs. Customer Relations notified me (though pleasant) that it was now between myself and the dealer. Sorry, and good luck. The dealership also phoned me with the same line.

The dealer won't touch the seats without payment (from me or from Corporate via a warranty which wasn't happening). The truck, warranty (and extended warranty) all of which, I paid cash.

In 2 days, I hired a private party who came out promptly. He cleaned, treated & sealed the drivers (leather) back and bottom seats and no charge for the passenger bottom front seat. I couldn't be happier!

As far as I'm concerned, I won't be returning to the dealership. Though they couldn't of been more friendly and polite... when did they "have my back" with Corporate other than poor photos? Or did they even TRY to clean the leather? Is this how Ford treats their loyal customers? NOT!
