The Visor mounted Homelink Garage Door control has such poor range that the truck bumper must be nearly touching the garage door before the control will activate the door. This poor range situation exists when tried on several opener brands. The selling dealer salesman came to our property and was equally unsucessful and commented that he had never had this kind of trouble programming Ford Vehicle Openers. In addition, the opener control will not even program what-so-ever to the old style (non-rolling code) community entrance gate opener.

Where this 2015 Ford F150 opener fails to operate, handheld factory units, controls in other older Ford vehicles and General Motors products program and operate without problem. Where the 2015 F150 must be nearly touching the garage door, to work, the range on all of the above alternatives can work out to several hundred feet. My past experience has always been that I could hit the opener at the end of our long driveway and the door would be fully open by the time I arrived at the garage.

That is the problem so what has been Fords response to date? Each step is listed below.

Selling Dealer Service Mgr said they couldnt do anything with the opener that was another company.

Another Ford Dealer did replace the visor containing a different control but the results were no improvement. The other dealer said since that did not work try calling Homelink directly.

Homelink Customer Service said, that HL Mgmt and Ford Mgmt were aware of the problem. Homelink stated that they (HL) viewed it to be an issue of "PLACEMENT" ??????? --- (Not too many places for a sun visor to be placed in a vehicle other than over the windshield) Homelink stated that I should go back to my Ford dealer and await a resolution to be decided.

--- (Checking back periodically, and having now waited going on 9 months) Selling Ford dealer failed to return phone calls over nearly a month. Visit to the Selling Ford Dealer resulted in same answer that this is a Homelink not a Ford Problem. Ford Customer relations said that this was a Homelink Problem and to call Homelink. --- (I bought a VERY EXPENSIVE FORD PRODUCT and I expect Ford to deliver a product that works) ---(This would be like Dairy Queen telling you to call the cone company if your ice cream cone was broken.)

HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS Homelink opener control ISSUE??????
