My Ford warranty just expired at 100,000/5 years. Today's economy has me cutting back to save money. I could not afford the expensive warranty with Ford motor so I went with a cheaper company not thinking I would need it any time soon. At 105,771 miles I was headed on vacation when the heat gauge recorded hot and I lost power. I contacted the warranty I purchased and was told they do not cover the ERG coolant valve and oil coolant as it is not part of the internal motor. I contacted Ford company and got a so sorry, just go out an purchase another truck. Right at $60,000 just can't afford another truck and what am I going to do with the one I have that is down. When I went to the Ford dealer in our area I found the company had 3 trucks with the same problem, and I checked with another Ford dealer in town and found they have 2 trucks with the same problem. Ford is not repairing these trucks because they state they do not know what is wrong with them. When I pull a camper the motor would become hot. These trucks (I thought) would last to 250,000 miles, that is why I purchase this truck. I spoke to 2 other people who are having the same problem but told by Ford they can not find anything wrong with their truck. They also haul trailers, horse trailers and when they do their truck gets hot and they lose power. I contacted Ford Motor and was told there is not a program to assist me. I ask why, if the company is having problems with the EGR coolant valve and oil coolant failing after the truck gets up in miles, why are they not doing a recall to repair the bad EGR and oil coolants valve. Ford stated they are not having any problems. I disagree as I know of 7 trucks plus mine (8) in one area that are not working and Ford Motor is not doing any thing about it. I found a used motor that has 98,000 miles on it. Am I going to have problems with the EGR or oil coolants? Probably so, I will see. I had ask Ford Motor is assist in the problem and was just told sorry. I stated my truck is just past the 100,000 miles and still told so sorry. I just want other to know about the problems with the EGR and oil coolant valve and if their truck is at the 100,000 miles beware.
