The Ford Fusion Energi has a feature that you can set to have the car self-start and warm up or cool down the interior at a specific time each day. We have an occurrence of the feature turning itself on. We discovered that this was occurring by close observation of the mileage, which was lowered by the engagement of this feature. The lower mileage occur because we use only a 120v charging system. That means the engine is used to warm the car because it needs a 240v charger to use the vehicle's electric heating system. Using only 120v requires engine operation to make the heater functional in this situation.
The 'work-around' is just to disable all of the settings, but that doesn't explain the self-initiation of the feature. This isn't the only feature in our Fusion that has self energized, as mentioned here in another posting about the interior lighting.
