In October 2013, Honda settled a class action for excessive oil consumption which extends their V6 powertrain warranty out to 8 years & no mileage limit. However, is the inconvenience & risk of dealing with Honda on this problem worth it? We don't think so.

Premature brake wear has been a consistent problem for this Accord generation. Once again Honda settled a class action lawsuit over brake wear, but most 2010 Accords are NOT covered.

Owners have consistently reported uncomfortable seats with the entire 8th generation (2008-2012) of Honda Accords. Complaints range from back pain to leg circulation problems due to bad lumbar support, cushioning, & seat angle. Unwary buyers report the seat pain is mainly only noticeable after 15-20 minutes. The common theme we hear is "never noticed this during the test drive."

I bought a brand new Honda Accord in 2010. I am a stay at home mom and drive very little, maybe 10,000 miles a year. Within the first 3 years the first lock actuator went out on my front drivers side door. I only had about 30,000 miles on the car. The following year the front passenger side actuator went out. The following year the 3rd actuator went out, back passenger side. In 2017 the 4th and final lock actuator went out in May at about 65,000 miles, back drivers side. It is quite obvious that Honda purchased a bad batch of actuators. I have owned 5 Hondas and have never had this problem before. The first one they covered under the warranty but the last three, I have had to pay for even though I requested they change all three within the warranty period and they refused.

All four of my door actuators have now been replaced and now my rear driver's side door actuator has failed again. I think the actuators started to fail a couple of years ago. First the passenger side front door actuator failed. I took the car into the dealer for extended warranty repair (still cost me $100 deductible). They replaced the actuator and problem was resolved.

A few months later one of the rear door actuators failed, so I waited until a second one failed - sure enough, I believe the driver's door actuator failed and then I took it back to the dealer and got both replaced (another $100 deductible). Then a little while later, the other rear door actuator went bad and I replaced that one myself with an actuator I found on the internet for less than half the cost of the $100 deductible. Finally, the driver's side rear door actuator has failed again, and I have not fixed it yet.

2010 Honda Accord Sedan EX-L 48,250 miles. Rear Driver door lock actuator failed June 2014. My warranty ended March 2014. This makes three failures on actuators, different doors since Jan 2014. I took the actuator I changed apart an found no broken parts or damage.The only thing I can think is a spring that's pre-loaded is too taught and over time the motor can't push the gear attached to the spring. There is some defect as I've read many posts about Honda's actuators. There is a class action suit against Honda for CRV actuators but not Accords.

2010 Honda Accord Sedan EX-L , Driver door lock actuator failed.(Jan 2014). Honda replaced under warranty. My warranty ended March 2014. Since then I replaced two actuators (5/14, 6/14) myself on two different doors. right rear, left rear. I'll open new complaint for each one.
