CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.

For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.

Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2013 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

While driving long distance in 100 degree weather, the car's audio and navigation displays went completely non-functional. I was utilizing navigation, radio and phone functions, but could not manipulate any system to change channels, make or receive calls, adjust routes, etc. Even monitoring the A/C trying to keep usage to a minimum, driving under 75mph, etc. did nothing to prevent total malfunction. The only fix was to locate a shady spot in a parking lot -- which was nearly impossible in Southern California during the 100 degree heatwave in May, 2014 -- and wait 30-40 minutes for the system to cool down. 30-40 minutes of wasted drive time! I was depending upon the navigation to help me arrive at my destination as I was unfamiliar with the route. Luckily, I had left on my trip 2 hours early! This was NOT my first experience with the system overheating. Several times in the prior summer the system flashed "camera hot" "front collision warning system off" messages till the system cooled down, usually after driving 10-15 minutes through cooler weather. And that was normally from the vehicle sitting in 105+ degree weather. Had I not been able to pack an extra 2 hours into my schedule and locate a "shady fix," I may never had arrived at my appointment! Honda dealers have only told me, "We can't fix the problem till you can replicate the problem at our service center." They won't even offer to contact Honda corporate or help research other complaints for me. Sad customer service.

When I started my vehicle, I saw the warning come up saying the cameras were hot and then the FCW and the LDW notifications kept blinking. I took the vehicle back to the dealer and no one in the service department could tell me what the problem was. After it happened for the 5th time, I took the vehicle in for service and they still could not give me a reasonable answer as to why this was happening. I don't think it was fixed. I have to wait and see if it happens again.
