When driving on the freeway at 60 mph, the SUV on my left cut into my lane so I had to change to the lane on my right. As soon as I made the lane change, my car violently fish tailed 3- 4 times. I was sure the car was either going to roll over or get into a serious accident. It even felt like the back tires were bouncing off the road and not fully planted on the ground. I took my feet off the gas and held the wheel as straight as possible, it felt like forever [but probably only 6-7 seconds] and the car stopped swerving and everything got back to "normal".
I have owned 4 Porsches, BMW 850, Lotus Evora and Mercedes, and I never ever experienced something like this before. The serving was so violent and jerky that my wife hurt her neck. I consider it a miracle that we did not roll the car or get in a major accident--luckily the car on my right saw what was happening and drove on the should to avoid my swerving car.
I called the dealership and could not get through to the Service Dept but left 2 messages about the problem--after 4 days no one returned my calls. I finally called the 6th time and got to talk to a Service person---I explained what happened and he did not seem shocked and was a little evasive. Seemed like this has happened before??
To make a long story short, I got rid of the Jaguar F-Type by trading it in---all within 4 days of the incident. Too scary to keep driving that car after experiencing something like that and wanted others to be aware of this "problem"
