The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. While driving approximately 20 mph, an abnormal noise emitted from the engine. The vehicle decelerated independently, stalled, and the engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact was informed that the valve body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the parts were not available. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the valve body was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 13,700.
