I was involved in a front end collision with extensive damage to my 2014 Grand Cherokee. Seat belt did work properly but airbags did not deploy. Waiting to hear back from the adjuster via my insurance company. Did anyone have an inspection done after the collision to ensure the airbags were functioning properly?

Well it happened....Had a full frontal crash with the Cherokee....Person stopped with no reason, but past where they wanted to turn.. Passenger door jammed into the door, Hood pushed up in a 25 degree angle. Grill shoved into radiator support and the Air Bags never deployed..?? Seat Belts did not work either...Hit head and nose on steering wheel..Was wearing seat belt !!!!! NOW I find out there is a RECALL on this. Got the recall on the Alternator but nothing else. What the heck is going on....Buy a high dollar SUV with all the SAFETY CRAP and it does not work.....BS..someone will be hearing about this and the Ins Co. can keep it..If it did not work before..why do I want it back..?? Who else has this problem and what did they do for you..??

Was driving a Brand new Jeep Cherokee Limited Edition. Had car for about a month. Was making a left turn at intersection. Another driver ran red light, hit me on front part of driver's side door(he was given a ticket). Other driver was going approximately 50 mph, according to the police dept. Not one airbag in my car went deployed? Because of this I suffered numerous injuries. Car was completely totaled. Police and Fire Department told me that I'm lucky to be alive and couldn't believe that the airbags didn't deploy. Will never buy a Jeep product again!

air bags failed to deploy in accident air bags failed to deploy in accident

I was very excited a couple of weeks ago to finally receive my brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee 2014 Limited...I had been waiting for it for about 4 months and I finally received it!! I love the car, it is so luxurious and an awesome drive...unfortunately, on the 28th I had a terrible accident, but I was surprised that even though I had a head-on collision with a truck that was incorrectly parked on the left side of the road, that the airbags didn't deploy!!!

I found that very surprising giving the fact that most of the front part of the car is missing (see photos) I wanted to share to get people's feedback.

I was driving at the speed of approximately 60-80 km/h and as i didn't see the incorrectly parked vehicle, i slammed right into it, no brakes, nothing! As you can see from the photo, the airbag is dangling from the front fender. Shouldn't the airbags have deployed?

I have photos but was not able to upload them. We purchased a 2014 jeep grand cherokee limited. Before the car even had plates my husband was T-boned. The other driver going 50mph ran a red light. Not one airbag deployed. My husband broke his sternum which bruised his heart. Tore his rotator cuff and fractured his spine. The driver of the other car was under insured and it did not even cover our medical bills.

The insurance adjuster sent his supervisor to view the car - they could not believe the car could sustain such damage and not have had the airbags deploy. They preserved the car for four months only to be told he was not injured enough for Crysler to care.

Needless to say NEVER buy a jeep. NOT safe!
